Attending the Kachemak Bay Science Conference can earn you a college credit (ED A581)

A one-credit professional development course is OPTIONALLY available to teachers and informal educators. Conference participants may register for this option directly at the Kachemak Bay Campus prior to conference or on the first day of the Science Conference at the Islands and Ocean Visitor Center.

Registration: University of Alaska Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula College, Kachemak Bay Campus. The cost is $105.

Attendance at the Science Conference sessions will offer the opportunity for educators to gain more knowledge about current research in Kachemak Bay, and how it effects management practices.

To gain credit for attendance, participants are required to attend all of the conference sessions on Friday (9:00 - 2:30) and Saturday (9:00 - 3:00).  Participants are also required to attend the Keynote Presentation, Thursday 6:00pm, and the teacher workshop, Friday 3:00-5:00pm.

Participants will be required to submitt a brief written review of some of the presentations as well as completing a final project that outlines how they might apply the new knowledge gained from attending the workshop and conference.
